Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed his first election rally in Kirari on Thursday, urging voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The rally witnessed a massive turnout as CM Yogi promised development, law and order improvements, and a corruption-free administration.

Yogi launches attack on Kejriwal over Yamuna pollution

Sharpening his criticism of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Yogi questioned whether the AAP leader and his ministers would dare take a dip in the polluted Yamuna River. “Can Kejriwal and his ministers bathe in the Yamuna? I don’t think they would dare, and I don’t think the people of Delhi will forgive him for this negligence,” the minister remarked during an event.

Highlighting the deteriorating state of Delhi’s infrastructure, he added, “This is the national capital. Apart from the NDMC area, look at the condition of roads, water supply, and electricity in Delhi. A decade ago, people used to come here for better infrastructure, metro services, and cleanliness. But now, what has this government turned it into? The roads are filled with potholes, and in some places, it’s hard to tell if there’s a road under the potholes. Garbage piles and filth are everywhere.”

Sewage overflow and water crisis in Delhi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, alleging mismanagement in Delhi. He stated, “Sewage is flowing on roads, and a severe drinking water crisis is looming. The AAP government has failed to address these basic issues.”

AAP’s governance under fire

Criticising the AAP leadership, Adityanath accused them of prioritising social media over actual governance. “Instead of working for the public, AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, spend their time tweeting lies. Had they invested the same effort in governance, Delhi could have transformed,” he remarked.

Industrial neglect and encroachment issues

Addressing the state of Delhi’s industrial zones, Yogi Adityanath said, “Delhi’s Okhla industrial area is in shambles due to a lack of facilities. While AAP hindered industrial growth, they facilitated the settlement of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators. In contrast, Uttar Pradesh’s New Okhla region (Noida) is a prime example of development.”

Lack of public amenities and development

Drawing comparisons between Delhi and Ghaziabad, Adityanath said, “There’s a stark difference between the roads and public amenities in Delhi and Ghaziabad. AAP has deprived Delhi’s citizens of basic facilities.”

Allegations of corruption and violence

Referring to past controversies, Adityanath stated, “In 2020, Delhi witnessed riots, and the involvement of an AAP councilor came to light. The AAP government has consistently failed to ensure peace and safety.”

Deceptive leadership

Taking a jibe at Kejriwal, he added, “A person who betrayed his mentor, Anna Hazare, is now betraying the people of Delhi. But the citizens are no longer falling for AAP’s empty promises.”

Yogi Adityanath’s assurance for better governance

The UP Chief Minister concluded by asserting that the AAP government’s inefficiency is evident in every sector. He called for leadership focused on development and public welfare rather than propaganda.
