The husband of a 61-year-old woman lawyer has been arrested for supposedly killing her at their Noida bungalow. Nitin Nath Sinha, who has now been nabbed, apparently hid in the home’s store space for over a day and a half before police found his telephone and caught him.

On Saturday, the body of Supreme Court lawyer Renu Sinha was discovered in the bathroom of their bungalow in Noida Sector 30. She and her husband stayed there while their son lived abroad.

Nitin told the police during interrogation that on Saturday he had a dispute with his wife regarding the sale of the house, after which they had a fight and he beat his wife badly, after which he killed his wife by pressing her face with a pillow.

The woman had not been answering her phone for the past two days, which prompted her brother to check on her. When he arrived at her home with the police, they found her body in the bathroom. Sinha’s husband, who is also a lawyer, has been missing since the incident.

Senior police officers, along with a forensic team and a dog squad, arrived at the scene after the body was found. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined. The police said that Sinha’s husband was the prime suspect in her murder. They have formed a team to search for him. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, which is being used to investigate the case.
