Noida: 61-year-old Supreme Court lawyer found dead at home, husband on run

A 61-year-old woman lawyer was found dead at her home in a VIP sector of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday. The woman, Renu Singhal, had not been answering her phone for the past two days, which prompted her brother to check on her. When he arrived at her home with police, they found her body in the bathroom. Singhal’s husband, who is also a lawyer, has been missing since the incident.

Senior police officers, along with a forensic team and a dog squad, arrived at the scene after the body was found. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined. Police said that Singhal’s husband was the prime suspect in her murder. They have formed a team to search for him. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, which is being used to investigate the case.

Police Statement

“We received a call from the victim’s brother, who said that his sister had not been answering her phone for the past two days. When we arrived at her home, we found her body in the bathroom. Her husband is missing since the incident. We have formed a team to search for him,” said a police officer.

Family’s Reaction

“I am shocked and saddened by the death of my sister. I don’t know what happened to her. I hope the police will find her killer soon,” said Singhal’s brother.

The case is being investigated by the Noida Police.
