Two killed in knife attack in a store in Czech Republic, suspect nabbed


The police say the situation is under control after they nabbed a suspect of killing two women in a knife attack in the Czech Republic.

Two people were killed in a deadly knife attack in a store in the Czech Republic, officials confirmed on Thursday. The police have detained a suspect who stabbed two women in a store in the city of Hradec Kralove. The site is reported to be 100 kilometres east of Prague.

According to the latest updates, the situation is under control and there was no danger to the public in the locality. Other details are yet awaited.

Knife attack in Austria

In another similar incident, a man stabbed six passersby in broad daylight in the city of Villach in southern Austria last week. A  14-year-old boy lost his life, while five others sustained injuries. 

Residents began placing candles at the site of the attack in the city of about 60,000 inhabitants. A group of young people, who knew the boy who died in Saturday’s attack, gathered at the crime scene to mourn and tearfully light candles, local media reported.

The 23-year-old suspect, who was detained shortly after the stabbing, is a Syrian with a residence permit in Austria.

A child and a man killed in Germany knife attack

In Germany, a child and a man were killed in a knife attack in January this year. A 2-year-old boy of Moroccan origin, who was part of a group of kindergarten children, was killed, along with a 41-year-old German man who intervened to protect the children in a city park.
