Mamata, Kejriwal proposed Mallikarjun Kharge’s name for I.N.D.I.A. bloc’s PM candidate: Sources

BREAKING | West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has proposed Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s name for I.N.D.I.A. bloc’s Prime Ministerial face.

According to sources, some other leaders also supported Mamata Banerjee but Mallikarjun Kharge said that right now elections are ahead and their focus should be on how to win polls, PM candidates will be decided later.

Reports said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also proposed Kharge’s name for I.N.D.I.A. bloc’s PM candidate.

When asked about Mamata Banerjee’s suggestion at the I.N.D.I.A. Alliance meeting, MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) MP Vaiko said, “There was no opposition to that suggestion – Mallikarjun Kharge for PM face.”

Speaking on the alliance meeting, JMM MP Mahua Maji said, “The main discussion was regarding seat sharing. Some leaders wanted to have the seat sharing before January 1. Discussions regarding the face of the Prime Minister were also done. No final decision was taken… Everyone said that PM’s face will be decided after winning the elections…”
