Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), announced during today’s meeting that her party will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections independently and will not participate in any alliance.

In the meeting, Mayawati criticised the BJP for passing the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament, alleging that the BJP did so solely for electoral gains. She claimed that the BJP is seeking to benefit from the bill during the upcoming legislative and Lok Sabha elections in several states.

Uma Shankar Singh, the state president of the BSP in Uttar Pradesh, was also present at the meeting.
