Suspicious vehicle seized
On Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized a “suspicious” vehicle bearing an India Post logo in Jammu and launched an investigation into its possible links to anti-national activities, officials said on Thursday.
The red-coloured vehicle, which lacked a number plate but displayed India Post markings, was intercepted during a routine check at Narwal late on Wednesday night. According to police, the driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Upon inspection, officers discovered a specially modified compartment inside the vehicle, raising concerns that it might have been used to transport illegal materials for anti-national purposes, said SP (City) Ajay Sharma.
Preliminary indications also suggest the vehicle may have been involved in bovine smuggling in the region. The investigation is currently ongoing.
