Mumbai fire: There was no report of any injuries to anyone in the fire that started at the rooftop dining facility of Hotel Fairmont in the Vile Parle (East) area, the official said.
Mumbai: A fire broke out at the rooftop restaurant of a hotel near Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai on Saturday (February 22) afternoon, a fire official said. There was no report of any injuries to anyone in the fire that started at the rooftop dining facility of Hotel Fairmont in the Vile Parle (East) area, the official said.
Fire engines, water tankers and ambulances have rushed to the spot and a firefighting operation is underway, he said, adding that more details, including the cause of the fire, are awaited.
The incident took place at around 5:29 pm on Saturday and it was reported around BMC’s MFB at 6:03 pm today. The fire is confined to the AC unit and exhaust ducting etc. in an area about 1000 squre ft to 1500 square ft on the terrace of 3 level basement + ground + upper 10 floored building.

No one was injured in the “level one” (minor) fire that erupted around 5.30 pm at the rooftop facility of Hotel Fairmont in the Vile Parle (East) area, the official said. The official said 70-80 people were rescued through the staircase after the firefighting operation began at the 10-storey hotel.
The fire was confined to the air-conditioning (AC) unit and exhaust ducting in an area of 1,000-1,500 square feet on the terrace, he said.Three fire engines, three water tankers and other assistance were rushed to the spot to put out the fire, whose exact cause is yet to be ascertained, he added.
Fire breaks out at 5-storey building in Marine Lines
A massive fire broke out at a five-storey residential building in Marine Lines area of Mumbai on Saturday afternoon, officials said. According to the Mumbai Fire Department (MFD), the incident was reported at 12:26 pm near the Marine chamber beside the Zaffer Hotel near Gol Masjid.
According to information, the fire was confined to the fifth floor of five residential buildings. Several fire tenders rushed to the scene, and no injuries have been reported so far.
The visuals from the scene showcase thick smoke emanating from the top floor of the building as the fire department officials worked to control the fire.
