Amit Shah’s stern warning to Pahalgam attackers: ‘Won’t spare a single terrorist’

Twenty-six people, mostly tourists, were killed and several were injured when terrorists opened fire at a meadow near the popular tourist town of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on April 22.

New Delhi:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday issued a stern warning to the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack, asserting that if anyone believes a cowardly strike marks a major win, they should know that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, every perpetrator will be brought to justice.

The Home Minister made his remarks during an event in New Delhi where a statue of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma was unveiled and a road was renamed in his honour. Brahma, a revered figure, is remembered for dedicating his life to the upliftment and progress of the Bodo community in Assam.

Terrorism will be eliminated from the country

Shah said, “I pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. This is not just the sorrow of their families, but a shared grief felt by the entire nation. I want to assure everyone that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India maintains a strict zero-tolerance stance towards terrorism.”

“If someone, by doing a cowardly attack, thinks that it is their big victory, then understand one thing, this is the Narendra Modi government, no one will be spared. We will exact retribution for every loss. It is our resolve to uproot terrorism from every inch of this country and it will be accomplished. Not only 140 crore Indians but the whole world is standing with India in this fight, all the countries of the world have come together and are standing with the people of India in this fight against terrorism. I want to reiterate the resolve that until terrorism is eradicated, our fight will continue and those who have committed it will certainly be given appropriate punishment,” the Home Minister added.

Terrorists should not think that they have won the battle

Shah further emphasised that terrorists must not assume they have achieved victory by claiming innocent lives. He warned those who spread terror that this is not the end of the battle.

“Today, I want to tell the public that we have been fighting strongly on the policy of zero tolerance against those who have been running terrorism in Kashmir since the 90s. Today, they (terrorists) should not think that they have won the battle by taking the lives of our citizens. I want to tell all those who spread terror that this is not the end of the battle; every person will be given a befitting reply,” he added.

On April 22, a horrific terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists, and left several others injured. The terrorists opened fire at a meadow near the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam, turning a peaceful spot into a scene of chaos and tragedy.
