UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced major development projects for Mathura and Vrindavan after Ayodhya and Prayagraj. Speaking at Barsana’s Rangotsav 2025, he emphasised religious tourism and infrastructure growth.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has declared that once Ayodhya and Prayagraj are given a new lease of life, the attention will now be on Mathura and Vrindavan for mass development. Addressing Shri Radha Bihari Inter College in Barsana, where he inaugurated Rangotsav 2025, CM Yogi promised that his government would not spare any effort in changing the area.
“Visitors coming to Barsana are experiencing the ropeway facility for the first time. Development projects worth Rs 100 crore are underway here. Under PM Modi’s leadership, Kashi has been rejuvenated, Ayodhya has been revived, and now it is Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, and Govardhan’s turn. The BJP government is committed to cleaning the Yamuna and enhancing the infrastructure here,” CM Yogi said.
Holi celebrations and spiritual significance
Expanding his Holi wishes, CM Yogi discussed the culture and religious importance of the area. He expressed that Mahashivratri witnessed lakhs of pilgrims in Kashi, and from January 13 to February 26, Prayagraj welcomed the Mahakumbh, which shattered all records.
“The world witnessed the unity of Santana Dharma at the Mahakumbh. Despite several attempts to spread misinformation, believers have proved the strength of their faith. UP is blessed as the birthplace of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, and we are dedicated to preserving and developing these sacred sites,” he stated.
‘Double engine government’ to drive growth
Emphasising the role of the BJP government at the state and Centre, CM Yogi guaranteed that all issues would be resolved effectively.
“Holi is a festival of unity, and it strengthens the message of Mahakumbh. With the support of the double engine government (BJP in both state and Centre), we will continue fast-tracking development across Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
Barsana’s ladoo Holi brings devotees together
Meanwhile, Barsana came alive with the vibrant celebrations of the famous Ladoo Holi on Friday. Devotees gathered in large numbers, singing and dancing in devotion. In Nandgaon, ‘Sakhis’ and devotees played with gulaal, marking the arrival of Holi with enthusiasm and traditional fervour.
With Mathura and Vrindavan now in focus, CM Yogi’s announcement signals a new phase of religious tourism and infrastructural development in the state.
