Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to US President Donald Trump, discussing bilateral issues on Monday. “Delighted to speak with my dear friend President @realDonaldTrump @POTUS. Congratulated him on his historic second term. We are committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership. We will work together for the welfare of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security,” PM Modi wrote on X after speaking Trump.
The development comes amid talks between the two countries over the illegal immigration issue. India on Friday said it is opposed to illegal immigration and would be ready to take back Indians staying illegally in the US provided their nationality is verified.
