Shobhit Johri’s life took a 360-degree turn soon after he uploaded a video of himself on a digital platform. Popularly known as nautankibaaz among his friends, the video landed him a role in none other than a Salman Khan film. He was cast in ‘Bharat’. He says that it was then that he decided to pursue more acting opportunities. He adds, “People used to call me nautankibaaz, and one such nautanki video landed me a role in ‘Bharat’. When I faced the camera alongside Salman Khan, I realised that this is what I want to do in life. I realised that I had found my true calling.”
He adds, “Acting is my passion and there are many other examples in the industry where one’s passion has become their profession. I hope that happens to me as well.”
Talking about Salman, Shobhit says, “Salman Khan is a kind-hearted and warm person. I could enjoy his witty remarks, and he made people smile and laugh on the set. The biggest thing that I learnt from him is to help others. His selfless efforts to help those in need is what I have learnt.”
After ‘Bharat’, the young actor also featured alongside Saif Ali Khan in a web series, but he agrees that sometimes it gets difficult to bag new opportunities. He says, “It’s also due to the pandemic. Many projects have been stalled or postponed indefinitely. But now that things are slowly getting back on track, I am sure that soon, we will see the industry flourishing again. And I feel that deserving people always get their due, no matter what. One always has to keep trying.”
For now, Shobhit, who calls Madhuri Dixit Nene his inspiration, is on the lookout for good, impactful roles. “I would love to do roles which leave an impact on the audience, connect with them. I would love to do a biopic,” he signs off.
