Sharmila Tagore will be seen in a movie after 12 years. Her last release was ‘Break Ke Baad’ which also starred Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan. With ‘Gulmohar’, the Tagore will be making her debut on OTT. The trailer of the film also starring Manoj Bajpayee also looks interesting as Tagore’s character announces that at 76, she wants to live alone, away from her family in Pondicherry.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, she spoke about going through judgements even in her personal life. But expressed that she got a lot of support from her husband. The actress added that she was quite blessed in the sense. She further expressed that her mother wasn’t allowed to go to go to a co-education university, so she had to do her MA privately. Later, Tagore was asked how her husband (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi), fondly called Tiger Pataudi, allowed her to work. But now things are changing, her daughter and daughter-in-law work and they aren’t asked such questions.
Sharmila further said that she doesn’t feel the void of her husband’s death because she feels he is still with her. Society is slow to changes but once change becomes a norm, it only accelerates. While male domination is still there, bigger cities have a different perspective so all in all, we are at a better place, expressed Sharmila.
The actress further revealed that all her children have some of her quality in them. Temperamentally, Soha Ali Khan is more like her father while Saif Ali Khan is more like Sharmila. Saba Ali Pataudi is a mixture of both.
‘Gulmohar’ is set to release on March 3.
