Ranbir Kapoor was critically lauded when he played Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, a biopic on the latter star. Ranbir had shot the film over a period of about a year, picking on the actor’s body language, his sense of style and swagger, and the emotions he had felt at every stage in his life. Today, with reports about Ranbir’s marriage with Alia Bhatt doing the rounds, it was crucial to ask Sanjay Dutt if he has a piece of marriage advice for his reel persona.
Bring up the reports and Sanjay, who is currently promoting KGF Part 2, says, “Is he getting married?” When prodded further, the actor, who is making his debut in Kannada cinema, says, “If he is getting married, I am really happy for him. Alia was literally born and brought up in front of me. Marriage is a commitment they are making to each other. And they have to stick by that, hold each other’s hands and move ahead in happiness, peace and glory. Make kids soon Ranbir, and stay happy!”
With sticky situations and rocky roads, sustaining a marriage in the long-run is believed to be the tough part. When asked if he has a piece of advice for Ranbir in that regard, Sanjay says, “It’s a matter of compromise from both ends. Rocky roads will come and go, but someone will have to bend. I would only advise them to assess the situation and be on the same page as for who needs to bend in the given circumstance at that time. With every curve in the road, they have to remember that the commitment they made to each other is very important and that is the key to keep moving ahead.”
