ETimes has it that the Film & TV Producers Guild led by Siddharth Roy Kapur (President) and Manish Goswami (Vice President) will hand over 5,000 Covishield vaccines to the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees), whereby the FWICE can inoculate their members who can also get their spouse also to avail the dose.
A source says, “This drive will be conducted next week. The other modalities are fast being worked out.”
Confirming this, Goswami said, “Yes, this is true. Siddharth, I and our team are leaving no stone unturned. Not just an FWICE member but even his/her spouse can utilise the vaccines we shall dispatch to them. If more members in a family get vaccinated, only then the dangerous link will be broken”
Goswami added, “We need the full working force of the entertainment industry to get vaccinated ASAP. Only then, the industry will be put back on wheels. We are going all out to ensure that wed cover maximum people in the shortest time possible in the days ahead.”
A source says, “Every film unit is now wanting each and every person associated with the set to be vaccinated. There is no room for complacency. We not just as an industry but even as the country have suffered a lot in the second wave. So many things have gone haywire and primarily so many lives have been lost.”
FWICE President B N Tiwari, when contacted, said, “Yes, Producers Guild is providing us 5000 vaccines. It’s a very long day of extreme hard work to organise these drives. We plan to hold a 5-day camp, wherein everyday we shall target 1000 doses to be administered.”
