Manoj Bajpayee would be seen next in ‘Gulmohar’ which is a story of his family. This OTT film also stars Sharmila Tagore who plays Bajpayee’s mother. While the story is about a dysfunctional family, it’s also quite emotional in its core. Recently, in an interview, Bajpayee also spoke about his relationship with his parents. Manoj’s mother passed away in December 2022 while the actor had lost his father in October 2021.
The actor told in an interview with Bollywood Bubble that he has always stayed away from his parents. He went to boarding school when he was in third or fourth standard. After that also, he’s lived his life away from them. But the love for them has never faded. It’s not painful for him that they’re no more but he feels a void. However, he doesn’t try to fill in that void because that would be painful. Bajpayee further added that someone when parents are gone, all the painful memories are also gone and then you just remember happy moments with them.
On work front, the actor also spoke about how OTT has opened up new avenues for actors like him. He said that none of them ever though OTT would happen. Earlier, there were only a certain kind of roles which directors could think of. But slowly things have changed. While they’ve always worked with conviction, only conviction doesn’t help. One also needs people and mediums to support such actors and talent and that’s what OTT has done.
