Love her or hate her, there is no ignoring Kangana Ranaut. The actor, who stays more in the news for her controversies than for her movies often finds herself in the eye of a storm, due to her (in) famous statements against colleagues from the industry. However, there is no doubt that she is a powerhouse of talent and enjoys a loyal fan base.
Recently, the actor took to her Twitter handle to show her appreciation for writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar for his comments on the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. In Pakistan to attend an event, the prolific writer, when asked to carry home messages of peace, said that as someone who has seen and witnessed 26/11 first-hand, he is well aware that the perpetrators are still in Pakistan.
He said in Urdu, “The attackers weren’t from Norway, or from Egypt. They are still present in your country, so you should not be offended if an Indian complains about this”. He also added that while India has hosted many Pakistani artists in the past, our neighbouring country is yet to return the favour.
Kangana, who was earlier involved in a legal battle with the writer, retweeted this video and wrote, “Jab main Javed saab ki poetry sunti hoon toh lagta tha yeh kaise Maa Swarsati ji ki in pe itni kripa hai, lekin dekho kuch toh sachchai hoti hai insaan mein tabhi toh khudai hoti hai unke saath mein … Jai Hind @Javedakhtarjadu saab… Ghar mein ghuss ke maara .. ha ha (I was a fan of his poetry earlier, but now, I feel that he carries a lot of truth and purity with him.)

On the workfront, Kangana has Emergency next, which has also been directed by her. The movie will see her don the role of late PM Indira Gandhi.
