Salman Khan-starrer ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ was all set to make a grand splash with its trailer at Mumbai’s massy theatres, Gaiety-Galaxy on October 25 (tomorrow). Now, a few minutes ago, text messages flew left, right and centre, from the film’s team that it’s happening on the appointed date but the venue has been changed to Jio World Drive, BKC.
The messages did not dwell upon the reason for the sudden shift. A source informed us, “The owner and the team of Gaiety-Galaxy are working towards it. Now, of course, they are disappointed. It was a big event, after all.”
When contacted, exhibitor for Gaiety-Galaxy, Vinay Choksey said, “The reason is that we wouldn’t have been able to pull it off as our air-conditioning system is not functioning properly. With the huge gap of 18 months of no activity in the COVID phase in theatre premises, the system needed a maintenance service.”
So didn’t they know that when things were finalised, we asked? Choksey replied, “We were told by the AC company that it will be done in a day or two but they could not.”
‘Antim’ has been directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Salman Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films. The film features Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma, Pragya Jaiswal and Mahima Makwana in main roles. The film is based on the 2018 Marathi film ‘Mulshi Pattern’. It is slated to release on November 26, 2021.
