Hollywood star Harrison Ford has returned to the sets of his upcoming action-adventure ‘Indiana Jones‘ and the first pictures are here for all to see.
The star, who has begun work on the fifth film of the hit franchise, was spotted on the sets rocking his trademark hat, leather jacket, button-down shirt and worn-out pants. The first photos were shared by Josh Gad on Instagram. This happens to be the first time that the Hollywood legend was seen in full costume since he last played the character in the 2008 film.
“All is right in the world. Welcome back Dr. Jones,” Josh captioned the picture.
Ford first played the part in Spielberg-directed ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ in 1981. He reprised his role in three more movies – ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’ in 1984, ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ in 1989, and ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ in 2008.
Work on the fifth instalment was delayed owing to the covid-19 induced lockdown all around the world. The film was originally scheduled to release on July 10, 2020.
It was announced early this year that actor Mads Mikkelsen has come on board to star alongside Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the upcoming film. Plot details for ‘Indiana Jones 5‘ haven’t been revealed yet and it’s unclear what character Mikkelsen will be playing in the movie.
According to reports, James Mangold is taking over the directing duties from Steven Spielberg. Veteran music composer John Williams, who worked on all the previous films in the franchise, will be scoring the music for the new movie as well.
