Amitabh Bachchan recently opened up about his initial struggle days, when he lived on a meager salary and survived off puckas.
The veteran actor, who hosts a TV show, revealed that the best puchkas are found near Victoria Memorial, Kolkata. “Iske saamne ek phatak hai wahan duniya ka sabse best puchka milta hai. Hum jaise log jinki salary Rs 300-400 hoti thi, wahan jab hum job karte the, khane peene mein bahut dikkat hoti thi. We would survive on puchka paani as it was cheap, only for do aana 4 aana. Bahut he badhiya puchka milta tha peit bhar ke khate the (There is a door next to this where we used to get the best puchkas. For people like us whose salary was Rs 300-400 and had difficulties eating because of money, we would survive on puchka as it was cheap).”
