Tesla CEO Elon Musk has posted on X about his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also said that he is looking forward to “visiting India later this year!”
US President Donald Trump’s close aide and DOGE chief, Elon Musk, in a post on X, has shared his plans for visiting India. Acknowledging the phone call he had on Friday (April 18) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Musk said, “It was an honour to speak with PM Modi. I am looking forward to visiting India later this year.”
‘Expressed India’s commitment to advancing partnerships’: PM Modi
Earlier on Friday, PM Modi said that his discussion with Musk covered various issues, including topics such as collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. PM Modi expressed India’s commitment to advancing partnerships with the US in these domains in the telephonic interaction with the SpaceX CEO.
About his conversation with Musk, PM Modi posted on X, “Spoke to Elon Musk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington, DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.”
PM Modi met Musk during his last US visit
Earlier in February this year, PM Modi met the Tesla CEO during his first US visit after Donald Trump assumed the presidency for the second term in January. Musk, accompanied by his wife and three children, met the PM at Blair House.
PM Modi and Musk discussed strengthening collaboration between Indian and US entities in innovation, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
When PM Modi praised Musk
Upon his meeting with Musk, PM Modi had praised Musk, as he said, “As for Elon Musk, I’ve known him since my times as Chief Minister.” PM Modi added, “He was there with his family and children, so naturally, the atmosphere felt warm and friendly.”
The PM also underscored the topics discussed during his meeting with Musk as he mentioned Musk’s DOGE mission, adding, “Now, with his DOGE mission, he is incredibly excited about how it’s progressing.”
