Jeep has unveiled three new electric SUVs, i.e. Avenger, Recon and Wagoneer S during the 2022 edition of its 4xe Day. The American manufacturer also confirmed that a fourth EV is also in the works, which will preview the future of the brand. However, no other details were revealed about the fourth electric SUV.
The Avenger will be Jeep’s smallest electric SUV and will be the first of the lot to be launched. As a matter of fact, Jeep has confirmed that the Avenger will launch in Europe early next year after its debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 17. The Avenger will be aimed at markets like Europe, Japan, South Korea etc.
Jeep says that the Avenger will be positioned under the Renegade in the automaker’s line-up, and will be produced in the high-efficiency plant in Tychy, Poland. The company is claiming a range of around 400 km for the compact electric SUV. Jeep also claims that this new SUV will offer “impressive ground clearance, breakover and approach angles for its segment, while delivering a modern and technologically advanced interior, with plenty of space for people and cargo.”
On the other hand, the Jeep Recon will be one of the first all-new electric SUVs for the North American market. The Recon is an off-road oriented electric SUV, staying true to Jeep’s roots. Jeep claims that the Recon has the capability to cross the mighty Rubicon Trail, one of the most challenging off-road trails in the U.S.
Production for Recon BEV will start in 2024 in North America. Customers in the U.S. will be able to make a reservation in early 2023, and the SUV will be sold in major markets around the world, including Europe.
Jeep Wagoneer S
The Wagoneer S will sit atop the Jeep EV range, with the company aiming for a 400 mile range for the electric SUV. Jeep also says that the Wagoneer S will have a power output of around 600 hp and a 0 – 60 mph (96 kmph) time of around 3.5 seconds. The Wagoneer S will go into production in 2024, with a launch expected soon after. Source
