Maruti Suzuki has finally unveiled its much-anticipated mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara 2022 in the Indian market. The brand has already commenced the bookings of the new Grand Vitara at an initial price of Rs 11,000. Likely to replace the S-Cross in the manufacturer’s line-up, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. AllGrip All-wheel drive system
The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gets Suzuki’s global AllGrip all-wheel drive system that the manufacturer has introduced in India for the first time. The mild-hybrid engine is offered with AllGrip Select with four driving modes – Auto, Snow, Sport and Lock, while the strong-hybrid engine will make use of a front-wheel-drive system and gets Eco, Normal, Power and EV drive modes.
Claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl
Maruti Suzuki is offering the new Grand Vitara with a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl, offered by the 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will offer a fuel efficiency of 21.11 kmpl, as per Maruti claims.
Longer than Creta and Seltos
The recently unveiled Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 2022 is 45 mm longer than the Hyundai Creta and 30 mm longer than the Kia Seltos. Dimensionally, the new Grand Vitara length measures 4,300 mm.
3-element LED DRLs and tail-lamp
Featuring a muscular SUV stance, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is equipped with 3-element LED DRLs with an integrated turn-lamp at the front. The rear also features a 3-element sweeping LED tail-lamp with Grand Vitara lettering at the centre. The Intelligent Electric Hybrid option gets a “Fervent Dark Chrome” finish on the front grille, while the Progressive Smart Hybrid variants receive a “RichChrome” finish.
The new Grand Vitara is offered in two powertrains – a 1.5 litre Intelligent Electric Hybrid and a 1.5 litre Smart Hybrid. The 1.5-litre mild hybrid system develops 100 bhp power and 135 Nm torque, mated with a 5-speed manual or an AT. The other engine option is a 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine paired to an e-CVT that makes 114 bhp of power.
9 colour options
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be available in nine colours, including six monotone and three dual-tone options. The new Grand Vitara colour options include NEXA Blue, Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Chestnut Brown, Opulent Red, Arctic White with Black, Splendid Silver with Black and Opulent Red with Black.
