Nissan India launched the updated Kicks SUV in India on March 2020. The company discontinued the diesel powertrain and introduced a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The SUV was priced from Rs 9.5 for NA and 11.85 lacks for turbo variants (ex-showroom) at the time of launch.
And now, as per our dealer sources, we learnt that the bookings for the SUV have been temporarily stopped in the country. It should also be noted that the brand has also stopped taking bookings on its official website. It is expected that the Kicks might get discontinued due to upcoming RDE norms.

What are RDE Norms?
BS6 phase II is described as Real Driving Emission (RDE). This new norm requires vehicles to have an onboard self-diagnostic device that will monitor real-time driving emission levels. The RDE device will constantly monitor parts like the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors to ensure that they are meeting the emission standards.

The Kicks was offered with two petrol engine options. The first one is the Mercedes-derived 1.3-litre turbocharged Petrol engine which produces 154 bhp and 254 Nm of torque. The other one is the 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine which produces 104 bhp of power and 142 Nm of torque.
