The adventure tourer category is still a niche space in the Indian two-wheeler market, however, it is growing by the day. A host of two-wheeler manufacturers have entered the mass-market ADV space in India in the past couple of years, thereby resulting in a range of new options for the buyer to choose from.
Adventure touring bikes offer comfort and practicality like no other class of motorcycles. That said, if you’re looking for a new ADV motorcycle on a tight budget, here is a list of the top 5 most affordable options you might want to consider –
Hero XPulse 200 4V
Introduced as a slightly premium version of the now discontinued XPulse 200 2V, the XPulse 200 4V has now replaced the former as the only version on offer, priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it the most affordable ADV bike in India.

The Hero motorcycle draws power from a 199.6 cc, fuel-injected, air and oil-cooled engine that makes 18.04 PS at 8,500 rpm and 16.45 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It gets a 37 mm telescopic fork up front, coupled with a preload adjustable rear monoshock. The braking setup consists of disc brakes at the front and rear with single-channel ABS.
Honda CB200X
The Honda CB200X was introduced in India as the adventure touring version of the Hornet 2.0 naked motorcycle, owing to the growing demand for ADVs in the country. The ADV bike makes use of the same 184.4 cc single-cylinder motor, putting out 17 PS at 8500 rpm and 16.1 Nm at 6000 rpm.

The diamond type frame of the motorcycle is suspended on a USD fork up front, along with a monoshock at the back. Honda has equipped the CB200X with all-LED lighting, knuckle guards, a split-seat, a digital instrument cluster, an under-cowl, and a visor. The Honda CB200X is currently priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Suzuki V-Strom SX
Suzuki introduced the V-Strom SX in India in April last year, marking its entry into the mass-market ADV space. Based on the Gixxer 250 platform, the V-Strom SX is currently priced at Rs 2.12 lakh (ex-showroom), which puts it at third on this list of most affordable adventure touring bikes in India.

The V-Strom SX comes equipped with the same 249cc, oil-cooled engine as the Gixxer 250, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine puts out 26.5 PS of max power and 22.2 Nm of peak torque. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork up front with 120 mm of travel, and a monoshock at the rear with 7-step preload adjustability. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Yezdi Adventure
Launched about a year ago, the Yezdi Adventure is currently priced from Rs 2.13 lakh to Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The ADV motorcycle makes use of the same 334 cc engine as the Jawa Perak, however, it has been tuned to suit the characteristics of the Yezdi bike. The engine belts out 30.2 PS power and 29.9 Nm torque, and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The bike gets full-LED lighting, digital instrumentation, dual-channel ABS, Bluetooth connectivity, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork with 200 mm of travel at the front, and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock with 180 mm of travel. The braking setup comprises a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm disc at the back with dual-channel ABS.
