We recently reported about Hyundai teasing the Palisade facelift, with a debut scheduled for April 13 at the New York International Auto Show. Following the news, Hyundai’s sister brand Kia ended up teasing a facelift for its own version of the 8-seat SUV, i.e. Telluride. Kia of USA has confirmed that the updated Telluride will also be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show tomorrow, alongside its cousin 2023 Hyundai Palisade.
The teaser image of the 2023 Kia Telluride facelift reveals the silhouette of the updated SUV, which is identical to the pre-facelift version. What’s new is the slightly smaller yet more pronounced tiger nose grille up front, surrounded by a silver embellish. The grille is flanked by what appears to be new headlamps with two parallel vertical lines that will likely be the LED DRL units.
The interior of the three-row SUV has also been teased, with a cleaner layout than before. The SUV is equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel, but the main highlight is surely the large digital display that will house both the digital driver’s display, as well as the infotainment system. This will also result in the deletion of a few physical buttons, with their function shifted to the infotainment unit itself. The 2023 Kia Telluride SUV will continue to be offered with a choice of 7- or 8-seat layout.
Powertrain details are not yet available, but we do know that the three-row SUV will be available with both FWD and AWD driving configurations. While the exact date is not revealed, we expect the 2023 Kia Telluride facelift to go on sale in international markets in the coming months. Powering the pre-facelift Telluride in the US is a 3.6-litre Lambda naturally aspirated V6 engine that puts out 291 hp of max power and 355 Nm of peak torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
