Kia is working to launch its first all-electric crossover Kia EV6 in the Indian market. Recently, the EV6 was spotted testing in Hyderabad and is expected to launch as a CBU unit in the country soon. Introduced globally in 2021, the EV6 is underpinned by Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
Featuring a sporty design and a muscular bonnet, the EV6’s front facia receives sleek-looking headlamps and fog lamps. At the rear, it gets connected tail-lamps spanning throughout the width of the car and extended up to the rear-wheel arches. Moreover, a chrome strip is wrapped all around the rear to give it a sporty look.

Kia EV6 interior follows a modern appeal and comes integrated with technology features, such as a 12-inch touchscreen information display, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, sporty-looking steering wheel, a floating centre console, ambient lighting, wireless charging and ventilated front seats (on the top variant).
Technically, the EV6 will likely come equipped with two battery options – a 58kWh and a 77.4kWh battery paired with four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive variants. The single-motor version of the 58kWh battery delivers 168 hp of power, while the twin-motor variant produces 232 hp.
The 77.4 kWh battery with a single-motor version cumulatively produces 226 hp power, whereas the dual-motor version and a 77.4 kWh battery offer a power output of 321 hp. The Kia EV6 GT variant produces a massive power of 577 hp and a peak torque of 740 Nm. The EV6 also gets a fast charging 800V set-up which charges the battery from 0-80% in merely 18 minutes.
Talking about the Kia EV6 pricing, it is expected to be priced between Rs 60 lakh – Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom, India) onwards. The EV6 will compete against the likes of Volvo XC40 Recharge presently. Source
