Hyundai is all set to make its huge presence at the Auto Expo 2023 that will start from 11 January 2023. Recently, the car manufacturer unveiled the Ioniq 5 EV, which will be launched at the upcoming Auto Expo. Moreover, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric sedan will be another major attraction.
Hyundai Ioniq 5
The South Korean manufacturer has already commenced the bookings of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car at an initial amount of Rs 1 lakh. Similar to the Kia EV6, its cousin model, the Ioniq 5 will be locally assembled. In terms of pricing, we expect the Hyundai Ioniq 5 to attract a price tag of sub-Rs 50 lakh in the Indian market.
Mechanically, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV will come equipped with a Rear-Wheel-Drive system and an electric motor that generates a max power output of 217 hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The motor will make use of a 72.6 kWh battery, offering a range of 631 km (ARAI-certified) per charge. The battery can be charged from 0-100% in just 18 minutes.
Hyundai Ioniq 6
According to various media reports, Hyundai will also showcase the Ioniq 6 electric sedan at the Auto Expo 2023. This will be the manufacturer’s third EV internationally that is based on the e-GMP skateboard architecture, underpinning the Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 gets a swooping design and is dimensionally similar to its close rivals, the Tesla Model 3, the BMW i4 and the Polestar 2.
Mechanically, the Ioniq 6 will be powered by two battery options – a 53 kWh and a 77 kWh, similar to the Ioniq 5. The Rear-Wheel-Drive set-up is available across the range, while the top-spec variants also get dual-motor AWD option. The Ioniq 6 will offer a WLTP-certified range of 429 km (53 kWh battery) and 614 km (77.4 kWh battery) for the RWD variants. The AWD variants promise a range of 583 km.
Other Hyundai models at Auto Expo 2023
The brand might showcase the sub-compact SUV concept as well at the upcoming event that will go on sale in the second half of 2023. The concept is codenamed as the Hyundai Ai3. Moreover, Hyundai will also introduce the facelift of its most popular Creta SUV at the Auto Expo 2023.
