
It was 2020 when the Auto Expo was last held in India. The country’s largest motor show which is held every two years had to be given a miss in 2022 owing to the coronavirus pandemic-led circumstances.
It’s rumoured that the Chinese automaker BYD (Build your dreams) will be showcasing the BYD seal electric sedan at the 2023 Delhi auto expo.

Talking about the design of the Seal EV, design comes inspired by the Ocean X concept car. The EV gets an all-glass roof, flush-fitting door handles four boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, a split headlamp design and a full-width LED light bar at the rear.
In terms of dimensions, the EV measures 4,800mm in length, 1875mm in width and 1460 mm in height. The Seal has a wheelbase of 2920 mm.

Moving on to the inside, the Seal EV gets a rotating massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to Atto 3 and E6. The EV also features a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and head-up display.
The Seal EV is offered with two battery packs – a 61.4kWh unit with 550 Km of range and an 82.5kWh unit with 700 Km of the claimed range. The smaller battery can be charged at rates of up to 110kW, while the bigger 82.5 kWh is capable of speeds of up to 150kW.

Talking about the electric motors, the Seal sedan is offered with both single-motor and dual-motor setups. The single motor produces 204 hp of power with a smaller battery pack. However, with the larger battery pack produces 312 hp of power.

The dual-motor variant gets two electric motors placed on each axle. The motor mounted at the front produces 218hp and the one on the rear produces 312hp. Combined, they produce 530hp. BYD claims that this dual motor variant with AWD is capable of sprinting 0-100 in just 3.8 seconds.
