BS6 Stage 2: Renault India’s entire line-up now RDE complaint, new Kwid RXE variant prices out!
Ahead of the BS6 Stage 2 emission norms kicking in on April1, 2023, Renault india has introduced RDE compliant version of all its models. The Renault Kwid, Triber and Kiger models are now BS6 Stage 2 compliant and also get new safety features as standard. As per the new emission norms, the new cars will be fit with a self-diagnostic device that will constantly monitor the vehicle’s emissions in real-time while driving. The drive also monitors values from other critical emission devices such as the catalytic convertor and oxygen sensors.

Renault has also enhanced safety across its models by adding Electronic Stability Program (ESP) Hill Start Assist, Traction Control System (TCS) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard features across the line-up.
One would expect the new upgrades to result in higher prices for the Renault car but there has been no increase in price yet. In all fairness, it is important to note that the company had increase the prices for all its cars earlier in January 2023, citing rising input costs.
Commenting on the development, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO, Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “Renault India remains committed to Government of India’s vision for clean and green environment. The launch of new BSVI Step 2 compliant petrol engines across the range will ensure substantial reduction in emissions, thus contributing to a safer and cleaner environment.”
Renault has also announced a new variant for the Kwid hatchback called the RXE. It gets the 1-litre petrol engine mated to the manual gearbox. Turn indicators on ORVMs and steering mounted controls are on offer as well. The new RXE variant has been priced at Rs 4.69 lakh ex-showroom.
