MG India is gearing up to launch the next-generation of the Hector SUV and has revealed details of its redesigned interiors ahead of its arrival. While the outgoing Hector features a modern interior theme with its large 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen and a dual-tone interior featuring brushed metal elements. The all-new Hector’s interiors will feature a complete overhaul and an even bigger touchscreen.
The all-new Hector will now feature a 14-inch HD infotainment touchscreen in portrait configuration. The touchscreen is now integrated with the central console that features a brushed silver finish and also enhances the cockpit-like cabin layout. The vertical air vents of the earlier model have now been replaced with wider vents in the horizontal configuration. In another major interior update, the all-new Hector will feature a fully digital 7-inch driver information display as well. The door panels and handles have also been updated and do not feature the extended grab handle from the outgoing model. All the updates will be brought together with MG’s Next-Gen I-SMART technology suite.
From what can be seen in the teaser images, the use of brushed metal and chrome elements has been amplified in the upcoming MG Hector. The dual-tone interior with leather panels is continued but has been redesigned for a sharper theme. There is also the addition of an ambient lighting strip running across the dashboard. The large 14-inch central touchscreen now also has the volume, defogger and power controls integrated within its UI. However, the steering design will remain the same as the current Hector’s.
There is no confirmation yet whether the all-new MG Hector will also feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) similar to what we have seen in the Astor compact SUV earlier. What buyers will be most interested to know is if the all-new Hector will be positioned similarly to the outgoing model or a step above it, making it more expensive.
