2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class design & dimensions
On the outside, the new C-Class features new slimmer headlamps, along with pointier wraparound LED tail lamps. The luxury saloon also gets a new grille that actually looks like a flipped version of the one seen on the model it replaces. The overall curvy design language of the C-Class remains unchanged, but Mercedes has managed to make it look sleeker than the last-gen version with some enhancements.

The luxury sedan is 65 mm longer than the model it replaces at 4751 mm, while it is also 13 mm wider (1820 mm) and adds 25 mm to the wheelbase (2865 mm). This makes the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class the largest car in its segment.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class interior & features
The new C-Class’ dual-tone interior takes heavy inspiration from the new S-Class. It gets a similar dashboard design as the flagship luxury saloon, with a vertically-stacked 11.9-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system. The car also gets a brand-new steering wheel, with a flat-bottom unit on the sportier range-topping AMG Line, along with a 12.3-inch fully digital driver’s display.

Some noteworthy features on offer with the car include ADAS functions, a large electric sunroof, ambient lighting, a premium Burmester sound system, Sienna Brown leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable front seats, dual-zone auto climate control, wireless charging, a biometric lock-in with a fingerprint scanner with personalised driver profile, Car-to-X Communication and so on.
2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class engine & transmission
Powering the new India-spec Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be three powertrains – all assisted by 48V mild-hybrid tech for increased fuel efficiency as standard. The C200 gets a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that puts out 204 PS of power and 300 Nm torque, while the C220d makes use of a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 200 PS and 440 Nm.
The C300d gets the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the C220d, but on the top-of-the-line variant it is configured to generate 265 PS and 550 Nm. A 9-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the range. The mild-hybrid tech with an integrated started generator (ISG) system provides an additional boost of 20 PS power and up to 200 Nm of torque.
The German luxury car manufacturer claims that the C200 has a fuel efficiency of 16.9 kmpl, the C300d returns 20.37 kmpl, while the C220d is the most fuel-efficient Mercedes-Benz car in India with a mileage of 23 kmpl. Mercedes also says that both the petrol and diesel Avantgarde models can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds, while the C300d AMG Line variant will achieve the same feat in 5.7 seconds.
